Conviction Before Repentance

In the world today there seems to be a lack of true repentance. Repentance means to turn away from sin, to change, to regret your misdeeds and wrong doings. There are many people who say they love God, that pay their tithes and offerings, who even hold positions in their church but continue to live a worldly lifestyle. I believe this is because they are not convicted for their sins. Maybe they do not realize that they are sinning or maybe they know and believe that everything will be alright.

I believe that in order to experience true repentance we must first admit that we are sinners. We have all been born into sin. But our fleshly bodies don't have to dictate our minds. With our minds we can use our free will to determine what our body does. I think that when you recognize that you are a sinner and feel convicted for your sins that this will cause you to change your lifestyle which will eventually lead to your salvation. I believe that this is a natural progression for those who want to be Christians.

In order to receive salvation we must repent and change our ways. To get closer to the Lord we need to confess our sins and turn completely away from them. If you need help ask the Lord, He can take it completely away from you. Just talk to Him, be sincere. Give it to Him and see what he does with it. I feel sure that He will amaze you just as He has amazed me. He amazes me all the time, our God is just great like that.

So, it starts with conviction which leads to repentance and ultimately salvation. If you want God to really move in your life, don't half step. Give Him your all, He's worth it and take my word for it, you will not regret it.

KJV Luke 5:31-32 And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

KJV Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

KJV Matthew 21:32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

KJV Luke 17:3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.

KJV Jeremiah 31:19 Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.
