What Controls Your Mind Controls You

Updated: Jan 31, 2021

The mind is a very powerful thing. Not only does the mind control what we think. It also controls what we do. Everything we do first starts off as a single thought. Our thoughts and mindset are very important to everything we accomplish and everything that we are in life.

We all have thoughts that run through our minds. I going to ask you to pay good attention to the thoughts that occupy your mind during day. Our thoughts set the base for the type of person that we are. They effect the things we talk about, the things we engage in and how we treat each other. So be careful about the things you think about.

Do you have negative thoughts about yourself, your job, your current life situation? Even something as simple as thinking that you're tired. You are going to be just that, 'tired'. Just because you said so. That's how powerful your thoughts are. You really are what you think you are. So you have to think positively about everything.

When you catch yourself having a negative thought, rebuke it immediately and switch it to something affirmative and encouraging. You can train your mind. A person with negative thought cycles can change that with time. And you will be surprised how it effects your mood, your behavior and how you feel.

Let good things control your mind. The most positive thing you can do is train your mind to stay on the Lord. Get into His word, I try to read the bible daily. Pray often. For me listening to worship music helps keep me focused. Try to avoid negative influences, negative people and anything that may take your mind to a less than optimistic place. I saturate my mind in things of the Lord. And you will be a much happier person for it.

Be mindful of your thoughts. You may not realize it but your thoughts affect your life in so many ways. In God's eyes your thoughts are actions. So be aware and don't let the enemy have any space in your head. You control your mind, your thoughts and your actions. Don't let negativity control you.

Colossians 3:2 2Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

1 Peter 1:13 13Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

Philippians 4:8 8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

2 Corinthians 10:5 5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
