A Love That Surpasses All Understanding

For this title I am replacing the word peace with love because today I want to talk about God's love. I have been on this journey, my walk with Christ for just a little over two years. I have learned a lot. During this time God has revealed so much to me, things about myself and things about him. But the one thing that I learned that I am one hundred percent sure about is that God loves us, so very much.

He loves us to a degree that I am not sure if I will ever fully be able to understand. His love is complete and absolute. Love here on earth, between people is actually very superficial. Think about how we rate or consider what love is. How we recognize and acknowledge love. Our love is based on conditions, behaviors and circumstances. We love other because they love us back, if they treat us how we expect to be treated, if they are nice to us or if they are there for us.

As humans we have so many stipulations to rate who, how and how much we love. God's love is so different, it just is. It isn't based on anything that we have ever done. No conditions and we do not have to do anything to deserve it. How you have lived your life, what you have done with your life, none of that matters. He has loved us all from the very beginning, before we were even born. There is nothing we can do to change that. Trust and believe that nothing can separate us from his love.

I was allowed to feel how much he loves us (detailed in my book My Extraordinary Walk). It was so overpowering that I was not able to take it all in. I felt like I would explode. I was immediately inundated with emotion and tears. Words cannot express the power of the love he has for us. It is tremendous and it does surpasses all understanding. We are not worthy but guess what, he loves us anyway. Each and everyone of us.

NLT 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

KJV Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

KJV Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
