Stop sitting on what God told you to do

Some of us have known since childhood exactly what you were going to do with your life. Something deep inside was always there, nagging you to take a certain career path. Maybe you followed your gut to the perfect job choice. And you are doing exactly what you always thought you'd do. Perfectly happy and content, doing what you love and helping others along the way.

Or maybe you ignored that little voice and chose to follow the path your parents encouraged you to take. Maybe you did what was easy and chose to work at what presented itself to you in life. Or maybe you came up with a plan and decided what was going to be best for your life. You work, take care of your family and you may even be really good at your job but deep inside that small still voice is still there. Telling you that there is something else or something more you should be doing.

Maybe it wasn't a small still voice planted in your soul. Maybe you received a dream, had a vision or a response to your prayers. Maybe you have a recurring thought or feeling that you should be doing something very specific. All those whispers of inspiration come from the same place, the source of our lives, God. I believe that God has a purpose and plan for each of our lives and He wants us to find it.

You may have a lot of questions, can't see how you are going to do it or you might not even believe that you can do it, and that is okay. All you need to do is to trust God, especially when you believe it is Him who has given you the passion or placed a task in your heart and mind. If He has planted the seed it is up to you to help it grow. You help it to grow through your faith and action.

When you act on it, it proves to Him that you believe. Then He is able to take the next step in making your dream a reality. Don't worry about the who's, what's, where's why's and how's. Just get started and He will align everything you need, at exactly the right time.

This is how you find your God given purpose. By aligning your life with Him. Being obedient to His small still voice. Following His lead and putting in the work.

Listen to and trust what He has put inside of you. Even when you have no idea what you are doing. I found my purpose in writing. I had all the questions and no answers when I got started. All I knew for sure was that God told me to write, so I did. I also prayed a lot during this time. And in His perfect timing He sent me someone who was patient and able to teach me the basics of what I needed to know.

Only God can do that, that is how perfect His plans are. Believe in what He has told or shown you. Have faith and be willing to put in the work. Find your purpose, it is already yours. You just have to claim it.

1 Samuel 15:2222And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

James 1:55If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Matthew 7:77Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Philippians 4:66Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
