Knowledge Is The Key

There is a parable in the bible about a wise and a foolish builder:

Matthew 7:24-2724Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

In this story above both the wise and the foolish builder had some knowledge. They were both able to build a house. But one of them were a little more knowledgeable than the other. The wise builder knew the importance of having a solid foundation. He knew how the foundation affects the stability of a home. And how over time the weather may affect a home built on a weaker foundation.

The foolish builder wasn't stupid, he just lacked the knowledge at the time that he built his home. And in his ignorance, he lost his home in the storm. You see, the foolish builder may've skipped the last few days of class because he felt like he knew how to build a home. But unknowingly he missing out on an important lesson. And left out on his home building expedition not full educated on the process.

Knowledge is important. We must educate ourselves, as much as we can and in every aspect of our lives. Especially when it comes to God. When you know better you can do better.

The bible is full of God's blessings and you have to read them or be taught about them to know what they are. You have to be knowledgeable of them in order to claim them for your life. You will not be able to access blessings that you do know that you have. You have to educate yourself in God's word to ensure that you will be fully equipted.

Another example that I have is... if someone slips a hundred dollar bill into your pocket, you cannot spend it until you know that it is there. The access to God and knowledge of His blessings are right there in our pocket but we have to reach in and grab it. Once you grab hold of it you can use it.

The enemy wants to keep us all uneducated. He doesn't want us to recognize how powerful we are. He wants to make sure that we never function at our full potential. Ignorance is his weapon. Keep in mind that the enemy is not dumb. He has been around for thousdsands of years and knows human nature very well. Don't let him fool you.

Educate yourself. Read your bible, take classes, participate in bible studies. Stay amongst the body of believers, we can strengthen each other and we can learn from one another. But whatever you do keep learning.

Proverbs 2:6 6For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Proverbs 1:77The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Isaiah 11:22And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

Proverbs 20:1515There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.

Proverbs 15:1414The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.
