Cast All Your Cares

The word cast has several meanings but for today's blog I am focusing on the verb. To throw something forcibly away from ones self. Like a fisherman that casts a net out into the water. He doesn't just drop the net over the side of his boat. He casts it out, wide, open and forcefully, so that it doesn't get tangled. Far from himself so that he can increase the area he is covering and increase the bounty that he is searching for.

Just like the fisherman who casts his net out into the water, we are to cast all of our cares onto the Lord. Your cares are your worries, your anxieties and your fears. Don't just tell the Lord about them, cast them forcibly onto the Lord and out of your life. Far from your self. And because He cares for us, He will carry all our burdens.

Just like the fisherman, when you casts your 'net' your should expect a bounty. When you cast your cares onto the Lord, your are opening a space in your spirit. That space that was once filled with grief, sorrow, worry and fear, can now be filled with peace, love and joy. That space can now be filled with whatever your need is. So, cast all your cares onto God and be ready to receive everything that God has for you.

There is no reason to walk around heavy with anger, depression, sadness or anything else that may be weighing you down. Throw it onto the Father, believe me He can take it. This is one of His promises to us. Trust Him to keep His word. And be encouraged because God has our backs. We don't have to do any of this alone.

1 Peter 5:7Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Psalm 55:22Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Matthew 11:28-30Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Psalm 62:8Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
