The definition of a friend is a person that you have a bond of mutual affection with. This connection is typically exclusive of sexual or family relations. But if you are lucky you have family members that have become friends, that you can share your closest secrets with. Or you may have friends that are closer to you than your blood relatives. Either way you should consider yourself extremely blessed.
You have no choice of the family you are born into but you can choose your friends. People of similar interests, that you can create life long bonds with. These are the people that give your life meaning. The people that are there for you through all the ups and downs of life. I didn't always realize it but we all need friends in life.
This is what life is about being there for each other, helping one another, loving one another, creating bonds and memories. If you are lucky enough to have people like this in your life, cherish them. Appreciate them and let them know how you feel. So Tasha, Doug, Sharon, Ernesto, Stacey, Candis and Jay. You teach me what it means to be a friend every time we are together. Even more than that you are my family. I love you all dearly and can't wait until we are together again.
