No Days Off

Work is an activity involving mental or physical effort, done to achieve a goal. For most of us the work we do on our jobs accomplishes a goal for our employers. And for many more of us the motivation to continue these tasks is financial compensation. We work so that we can provide for ourselves and take care of our families.

The jobs most of us work do not require 24 hour attention. We are allowed time off. If you work a 40 hour work week like I do, you also get days off. This is usually time to relax. A break from the day to day stresses of employment.

We all have to do work of some kind. Even the bible says that a man that does not work, does not eat (paraphrased from 2 Thessalonians 3:10). And we all need to eat. But if you are lucky and. have found your purpose. Work doesn't seem like work at all because you are doing what God created you to do. This is the most fulfilling thing any of us can do, to work in and live out God's plan for our lives.

God has a purpose and a plan for each of our lives. It behooves all of us to seek that thing that we were born to do. So that we can live out that 'more abundant' life that the bible talks about. For me, I feel like I have just stepped into my purpose. God has given me a glimpse of what my future can be if I stay on this path. And that is all the motivation I need.

So, if God has given you a peek of your future, shown you your purpose. Given you a dream or spoke life into your future. You can trust everything He has told you. That is Him, giving it to you. If He said it, that makes it so. His word never comes back void (Isaiah 55:11).

But you can't just sit still. You have to put in the work. It's already yours, so work hard for it. I am motivated to reach every goal that He has set before me. And until I accomplish His goals for my life, I am taking 'No Days Off'. Be encouraged. Seek your purpose. Listen for His response and let His Spirit lead you. He wants the best for all of us.
