All my life I have heard that God has given us all gifts. I have always asked, Lord what are my gifts? I really just assumed that I must not have any. But in the back of my mind I always knew that there must be something. This wasn't something that I thought about often, usually only after I heard it mentioned by someone else.
The bible says that there is a wide diversity of gifts and they all come from God. Examples of those gifts are those in prophecy, ministry, teaching, wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, speaking in tongues. These are gifts that directly connect you to God, the spirit, the source, the other-side, the heavenly realms. Whatever you call it. Through our gifts God uses us to help each other.
When you use your gift, there will be no mistaking that it is coming from a source outside of yourself. And often you won't be able to explain fully, how you did what you did, how you know what you know or why you said what you said. The only true explanation is that it is all God and from God. You are allowing Him to work through you. These are things that we cannot boast of ourselves for. All the glory and praise for these gifts belong to him.
I believe that your spiritual gift will be something that is so much a part of you that you may not realize that it is special. For me my gifts are in prayer and in my dreams. I have always talked to God even as a little girl, it is really easy for me to pray everyday. And I have always dreamed vividly and I was really shocked when I found out that everyone doesn't dream every night.
Now there was a very huge part of my life where I didn't dream at all and when I did not pray as much either. And it makes sense now because that was when I was in the world, living my life as I saw fit. But low and behold when I got close to the Lord and changed my life. Through developing a intimate personal relationship with Him. That's when God revealed my gifts to me. My prayer life increased but also my dreams came back. I often joke and says that my dreams are turned up to 100. I dream constantly as I sleep.
Please don't get this confused with your earthly talents. God has blessed many people with beautiful voices and a ton of other things. But that doesn't always mean that you are working in the spirit when you use your physical talents. So if you don't know what your gifts are, pray about it, ask Him. And while you are waiting for a response work on your relationship with Him.
