Check me if I'm Wrong

I know that there are may people who believe that they are above reproach. Maybe they've reached a certain status or received a title that makes them believe that no one below them can correct them or tell them what to do. Or maybe they've achieved goals and degrees that make them believe that they know better than most because of the knowledge they've received. Or maybe it's none of the above, some people just believe that they are correct and have everything figured out.

I believe that anyone with that mindset has placed a huge 'stumbling block' in their way. If you are not open to new ideas you will never learn anything, be able to change or grow. No one knows everything especially when it comes to the word and things of God. The Bible is layered in a way that no matter how many times you read it, you will always get new understanding and insight.

The life of a Christian is about constant learning and growth. No matter how close you are to God there is always another step you can take. You can always pray more, read more, give more, love more and learn more. Our purpose can change, our perspective can change, what we know can change as well as long as we remain open. There is no finish line as long as we are alive.

I welcome others that want to study the word with me, share their understanding and allow me to share mine. If I'm wrong, let me know. The title may be a little misleading because I do not really consider this 'checking' someone, it's learning and growing together. Like I said before no one knows everything. We need each other in order to continue to grow.

So, check me if I'm wrong but I have to warn you. If the Bible is not your resource you will be wasting your time. I am not concerned with the thoughts or beliefs of the non- believers. I base my life and my beliefs on what the Holy Bible says.

So know in advance, that if you do come to me, my first response will be, "But what does the Bible say?". Then we can, pray and sit down with our Bibles and the conversation can go on and on from there. We can converse, share and learn from each other. I welcome that.

if you do decide to 'check' someone, be mindful of your approach. It makes the world of difference how you speak, your tone and body language. If you are right. you not only want to be heard but received. Remember your goal is to help not to force your understanding onto someone else.

Proverbs 27:1717Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

2 Timothy 3:1616All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Hebrews 12:66For whom the LORD loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

2 Timothy 4:22Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

Jeremiah 10:2424O LORD, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.
