In the day in age that we live in, there is no excuse for anyone not know about God. We live in a time where knowledge is increased. With the use of cell phones, computers and tablets whatever you want to know is available to you at the tip of your fingers. The internet is widely available everywhere you go, even free internet access is easily accessible. If you don't know something it is not because it is not available to you, it is because you didn't want to know.
Anyone who knows me or is familiar with my story knows that I have not always lived the life that I am living now. I went to church most of my adult life, was a very active member in my church and did everything that was required of me by my religion. And despite all that I lacked confidence in my standing with God. I was going through all the motions but I couldn't help the feeling that there had to be more.
This is when I began searching the internet. I began watching stories of people who had near death experiences and ended up in Heaven and Hell. These stories were fascinating and it was obvious that the events discussed were real and true to the person telling the story. And the profound effect that these events had on their lives was amazing, these people's lives were changed forever.
Eventually, I began watching testimonies of people who said that they had found God. Testimonies of regular to average people who may've had some hardships in life but eventually God stepped in and changed their entire life. These were the stories that effected me the most. These people were renewed, they had a peace and a joy in their lives that they had never had before. They were sure of the relationship that they had with God.
We had a testimony service in my church but these stories were nothing like I had ever heard. These people talked about knowing God personally. They said that they talked to God and God responded and talked to them. That He led them in their everyday lives. God had become real and alive to them. I didn't know God like this but if it was possible I wanted to.
I decided to try this personal relationship thing. I continued going to church but I started by reading the Bible and praying daily. Slowly my life began to change, the things I did, the things I said and even the things I thought about. And eventually God started responding to me and my entire life changed. I am now that new creature that the Bible talks about and God is real and alive in my life.
Seeking a personal relationship with God, worked. I know have a testimony that I can share with other people. I never would have known what my life was missing had it not been for the testimonies of others. It is so important that we tell the world what God has done in our lives. Your story may encourage someone to seek their own relationship with Christ.
