The life of a Christian begins with a belief in Jesus Christ. A belief in who He is, The Son of God. A part of the godhead, the Father, 'the Son' and the Holy Spirit. A belief that He came to save us and gave his life so that we may have the right to eternal life. He is known as the Lamb of God, the Messiah, the visible image of an invisible God, God in the flesh and so many other things.
He is our Savior, the King of Kings. For me He is my everything, my daily motivation and I thank God for Him continually. But believing in Jesus, even loving Him and being thankful for Him means nothing if we are not obedient to His word. Think about it, how valuable is your belief if you don't obey Him?
We all need to read our bibles, so that we know His words for ourselves. So that we are not deceived by what someone else tells us the bible says or means. As you read, apply His word to your life. In that way you are being obedient to Him and His word.
I know too many people, who knows that God is telling them to do something but never act on it. When He speaks to you and deep down in your spirit you know that He is leading you. It is always in our best interest to respond and be obedient to what He is telling us to do. Even when we don't fully understand. Being obedient shows Him how much we trust Him.
Just believing in God is not enough. Just attending church is not enough. And just being a good person is not enough. We must put our faith into action by being obedient to Him and His word. Even a dog obeys its master. Let Him lead and trust Him not to steer you wrong.
