Life can be like a puzzle. Imagine starting life with lots of puzzle pieces from a bunch of different puzzles. With several different conclusions or finished puzzles to choose from. As you go on living life you pull different pieces together to form the picture of your life. Even though there are numerous outcomes for the puzzle that you complete and put together for your life, there is only one puzzle or plan that God has for your life.
For me, I started out just grabbing random pieces. Formulating a picture and a plan that I had for my life. All the pieces seemed to be coming together just fine, but the picture I was creating was never complete. Even though I was creating a pretty picture. I had a son, a career, I got married, purchased a home I believed that I was a good person but there was still somethings missing.
I did not find out what was missing until I 'found' God, through a deep personal relationship. In the process of forging this relationship, God changed me. The most important part of my puzzle, the piece that represented me, changed. The shape was different, the color was different, the texture and size of the piece was different and it no longer even fit into the puzzle I created. I became new and totally different. I became that new creature that the Bible speaks of.
What I didn't realize immediately was that with this change, there was a totally new purpose and plan for my life. God had put together a new puzzle for me. The perfect puzzle, the one that He ordained for my life. But there was some things I had to do. I had accepted Him but I needed to also accept the changes He wanted for my life.
It took me a while, I kept trying to fit my new puzzle piece into my old life, the life that I chose for myself. And no matter what I did it did not fit. I remained new but I continued to try to fit in. I wanted to resume some of my old habits, relationships and activities. I didn't willfully sin anymore but I still attended the party's and maintained the friendships, which exposed me to things that I shouldn't have been around. I just wanted to fit in.
I had to learn that in order for me to get where God wants me. That in order to get to that new puzzle He has laid out for me that...I had to let go of a few things. I had to release some of my previous attachments in order to receive the new things that He wants to attach to my life. With letting go, God is able to lead, guide and direct my life as He sees fit. He is able to move my puzzle piece to a place where all the pieces come together easily.
You can choose how you want to live your life or you can let God put the pieces together for you, the choice is yours. Life will only be complete when you let Him lead.
2 Corinthians 5:17-21 17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Romans 12:2 2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
1 Peter 2:9 9But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
John 17:15-18 15I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. 16They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
2 Corinthians 6:14-18 14Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the LORD, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. 18And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the LORD Almighty.
