Mother's Day is a lovely day. A day to show appreciation to the mothers in our lives. Most of our moms gave birth to us but we also have those who are mothers by nature. The mothers of our friends who pull us in and treat us as their own. The Aunts who love you to a fault because they believe that you could do no wrong. Some family and some have grown to be family but a mother figure none the less.
Today is the day to celebrate every mother in your life. For you to let them know that you not only respect them but that you love them as well. A day to give back. Even if you have nothing physical to give them you can give them back some of the love that they have given you.
There is nothing like a mother's love. The unconditional, unwavering, familial love. It starts when a mother finds out that she is pregnant and grows with every moment. Mothers change diapers, bathe us, feed us and do all they can to protect us from harm. Their love isn't taught and it isn't given to them to pass on. No mother is perfect but they find it somewhere deep within themselves and they do the best they can, with the tools they were given to share it with us.
It's a love that we sometime take for granted because we assume that it will always be there. We also need to remember that Mother's Day is bitter sweet for some of those around us because not everyone still has their mother with them. When you lose a mom, it leaves a whole in your life that feels like it could never be filled. I would like to encourage everyone to reach out to some one who has lost a mother. Let them know that you are thinking about them today as well. I believe it would mean a lot and might ease their spirits a bit today.
All in all, think about all the sacrifices your mom has made for you over the years. All the things she has done without being asked. Think about how selfless most of her actions were and how many of them have gone unnoticed. The meals she prepared, the holiday preparations, the chores she did around the house and the things she did outside the home to make sure you were okay. Use this day to let her know that none of it was in vain.
I am a better mother because of my mom and the example she set for me.
Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers, you are appreciated <3 <3 <3

John 19:26-2726When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! 27Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.
Proverbs 23:22-25 22Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old. 23Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding. 24The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. 25Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice.
