God's Will

We have all heard the term's, 'being in God's will' and 'God's will for our life'. But do we really know what that means. In order to understand what it means, you first have to believe that God is sovereign. That He alone is the ruler of everything, the creator of everything, the supreme being and that there is none other like Him. We also have to believe that He is omnipotent. Which means that He is all powerful. Not only does He have the power but He is the power, the spark, the source that gave everything life and that without Him, nothing is possible.

Keeping that in mind, we also have to believe that He had a plan and a purpose for everything that He created. A plan for the sun, the moon and the stars, A plan for all of humanity, the animals, the trees and all living things. If you believe those things you have to believe that He also has a plan for each and every one of us as well.

Being in God's will means that your life is aligned with His plan for your life. That you are connected, positioned and tuned into God. That you have found that path that, he has laid out before you. That you are letting Him push you and guide you along.

This is actually an easy place to find. But sometimes you have to wait, sit still and be patient. My last waiting season was almost two years. Now, just because you are waiting does not mean that you do nothing. I had to dive deeper in Him during that time. Deeper in prayer, deeper in His word and I had to be listening the entire time. Only moving when I was clear that it was Him telling me to. Which is not always easy, especially when you are in a situation that does not make you happy. But when you trust Him and you know that He is working it out for you. Everything will end up exactly as it should.

That is what it means to stay in His will. It's like jumping into a river and letting the current guide you. You may want to get out of the water for a while. You may want to fight the current or steer yourself through the water. But if you just have faith and trust that He is in control. Let Him lead. You will reap the abundance of benefits that come with being obedient.

Sometimes it is a small, gentle nudging and other times it is a full fledged leap of faith. I have learned to trust how I feel about a situation. There have been many times where I had no idea, why I was doing, what I was doing. And there are other times where something just didn't agree with my spirit. Follow what makes you feel at peace.

When I look back, it all makes sense. And every time I look back it blows my mind to where God has brought me. Where I am now is better that anything I could have planned for my life. And it was all Him, God is so amazing.

I have no idea what my future holds but I do know that right now, I am exactly where I should be, within His will for my life.

He has a plan for each of our lives and only you know if you are walking in yours...
