Endurance (in'd(y)o͝orəns)

Endurance is a word that is found in the bible many times. It is important to the walk and life of a Christian. We should all know what it means and how it applies to the life of a believer. Endurance is defined as the power of suffering through something painful and difficult. It is also explained as the ability to last through your trials and tribulations.

The person who is able to endure is a person of great physical, spiritual and mental strength. A person with stamina. A person that is steadfast, resilient with an above average amount of staying power. This is a person with determination to finish the task set before them. A person that is able to resist and withstand the opposition to their progress.

This life is hard. Especially when you want to live your life as Christ intended us to. Every believer must have the ability to endure. Choosing this life is choosing a life of many hardships. The enemy will do everything in his power to keep you from the promise of salvation. That is another reason to endure, so that you can redeem every promise that God says is yours.

The Bible says that if you endure to the end that you will be saved. We have to think of this life as a race. We have to stay in the race until it is complete. Don't worry about first place or even last place because that does not matter. All that matters is that you don't give up, don't let the enemy trick you out of what's already yours. Stay in the race until the end. Everyone that finishes shall receive their reward.

Choosing this life, this journey with Christ dose not mean that life will be easy. It means that Christ will be with you every step of the way. Helping you, protecting you, leading and guiding you to the end. You just have to endure.

Mark 13:13 13And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Hebrews 10:3636For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Colossians 1:1111Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

1 Corinthians 10:13-1413There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 14Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

Philippians 4:1313I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Romans 15:55Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:

Romans 2:7 7To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
