Coming To Him Empty

I was totally going to go into another direction with today's blog but I played a song this morning that I could not stop listening to. The song is called, Have Your Way by Casey J. This song sent me into real worship with real tears because it reminds me of how I came to God when I finally received real change in my life. It's amazing how something as simple as a song can do that to you.

This song took me right back to where my journey with Christ started. It's funny because I have always loved music but now certain songs mean so much more. They have more meaning because they seem to speak directly to your soul. Some songs just ring true in your spirit or remind you of what God has done for you. And this song by Stacy J is one of them.

Especially how this song mentions being an empty cup. That touches me because I went to church most of my adult life but I came to a point where I just knew that I was missing something. That's is when I started seeking God on a personal level. I had to let go of everything that I had been taught, everything that I thought I knew and allow Him to fill me up. That's when my entire life changed.

If you feel like you are missing anything in your relationship with God, you may want to try coming to Him empty with no preconceived ideas. Surrender your all to Him. Speak directly to Him and KNOW that He is listening. Present yourself as a living sacrifice and allow Him to speak to you. God is so real. He is waiting for a moment with you. A moment like I just spoke of. Open yourself to Him and allow Him to show up and show out in your life.

The lyrics of Stacy J's song that inspired this blog:

So tell Him

Here I am

Arms are stretched

Empty cup

Fill it up

Til I'm overflowing

Lord Please have your way
