Be Excited And Expectant

What excites you? For me there are many things, as a child I was always excited when Christmas was near. Knowing that there were unknown surprises coming would keep me on edge for days. Now I get excited when my vacation is coming up or when I know I am going to get something new like, a new car. We all have things that excite us but what should excite us most is the prospect of experiences and encounters with God.

God is the God of miracles, signs and wonders. Just take a look through the Bible, God has always shown Himself to His people through His mighty acts. He gave Joseph dreams of His future. He saved Jonah from the belly of the whale. He spoke to Moses to help the Israelites. And remember Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, He sent a protector to stand in the fiery furnace with them. There are so many examples of how God presents himself to those who believe in Him and follow His word. God is the same today as He was yesterday, and He has not changed.

My life since I started walking with Him has been full of encounters and experiences. One thing God does in my life is that He will communicate with me through my dreams. Sometimes it's just insight into current life situations, other times I will receive guidance on what to do or what not to do. And many others time He will answer my prayers in my dreams. There are times when I get so excited at the possibility that God may speak to me as I sleep, that I will cut the lights off and lay down, even when I am not tired, lol.

I share that just to let you know that we should all be excited and expectant of the next thing God is going to do in our lives. Stay mindful of the things that you are talking to Him about. Be open and listen for however he may respond to you. God speaks to His children in may different ways- dreams, visions, audible voice, answered prayers, visitations, words from a prophet, the list goes on and on. Sometimes it just a slight response like a feeling or just knowing what you should do. I have learned to trust what I feel more than what I see around me.

God is here with us and our spiritual connection to the Holy Spirit is how we access Him. So be excited and be expectant. Expect the unexpected. God is not hiding and I believe that He wants to speak to all of us.

Revelation 21:3 3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

John 14:13-14 13And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Job 42:5 5I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.

Matthew 18:20 20For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

James 4:1-4 1What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle within you? 2You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. 3When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. 4You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.

Hebrews 6:4-5 4For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
