What is the Truth? It is defined as a fact or belief that is accepted as true. Also as honesty, genuineness, the gospel. You cannot go wrong if you are following the truth. The truth will lead you to those things that are right, positive and true.
Now, what is a lie? It is defined as a statement that is known and intended to be misleading, inaccurate or false. The purpose of a lie is to lead you away from the truth. To misinform, to lead astray, an intentionally false statement.
I believe that God is the truth, The only real truth in this would worth knowing. So, for me the bible is the key to that truth. And if you know the Holy Spirit, He will confirm everything that is true and right. When you listen and follow the Holy Spirit you will just know what is right.
You know how we say that people know the difference between right and wrong. Even if you are never told, you just know. I believe that that inner voice is the Holy Spirit within us. We need to listen to that small still voice more. Get in tune with it, and let it lead you in all you do. It has never lead me wrong and will not lead you wrong either.
Back to the title, half the truth and half a lie. I believe that this is one of the biggest tricks of the enemy. He will take just enough of the truth and mix it with just enough of a lie, just to keep you lost. He will do anything to keep you from the full truth of God. Don't be deceived.
The easiest way not to be deceived is to READ YOUR BIBLE FOR YOURSELF. Do not just go by what someone tells you it means. Not even your pastor. You need to know and understand this thing for yourself. So that you are not misled.
What most people don't know is that as you read your bible, the Holy Spirit will confer with you. It will give you understanding as you read. And it is very important that you trust the understanding you receive as you read His word.
For me it was absolutely amazing when the Holy Spirit stepped in. When I first started reading the bible I did not understanding anything I was reading. But I kept reading and eventually I gained so much understanding. So don't just take my word for it, try it for yourself.
The truth is the light and you want 100% of the light to shine in your life. The enemy wants to keep you in darkness. Take your destiny into your own hands. Get to know God for yourself. The key to His truth is in His word. Read it for your self, you wont regret it.
1 John 5:6 6This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
Ephesians 1:13-14 13And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession-to the praise of his glory.
John 8:44 44Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Galatians 5:18 18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law
Proverbs 12:22 22Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.
